U.S. Senate Candidate Mike Gibbons has released the following statement on President Biden’s announcement to withdraw from the Strategic National Reserves:
"Americans are feeling the pain at the pump because Joe Biden doesn’t know how to lead. From day one he has declared war on the American energy sector. Biden also recently invoked the Defense Protection Act to mine for key minerals for clean energy production- sending a clear message that he doesn’t believe in free markets. Releasing reserves will only result in roughly nine days of daily usage. We must ramp up domestic oil and natural gas production to bring prices down, not tap into our emergency oil reserves. Biden must deliver that message to the fossil fuels industry. These latest moves are nothing more than a ploy to score political points in an election year, not an actual attempt to fix the problem of skyrocketing energy costs. I will make restoring domestic energy production a top priority and fight for America’s energy independence in the U.S. Senate."
