Former conservative congressman Allen West announced today his support of Deborah Flora for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate from Colorado.
"I wholeheartedly endorse Deborah Flora for the U.S. Senate. As an Army Lieutenant Colonel, I know she has an incredible heart for Veterans,” said West. “She’s exactly who Colorado needs to represent them in DC.”
Like Flora’s husband, Jonathan, West served in the 82nd Airborne. West also served as a Battalion Commander of the 2nd Battalion 20th Field Artillery, 4th Infantry Division. He retired after 22 years of service to his country.
“One of the other divisions in which I served is the 4th Infantry located in Colorado Springs, so I know the huge military and veteran community in Colorado,” said West. “They will be well represented by Deborah in Washington since she is a true champion of our men and women in uniform.”
West, a former congressman and state GOP chairman, said he is drawn to Flora’s passionate stand for conservative principles. He called her an “incredible constitutional conservative”
“We have got to make sure that we elect those like Deborah who clearly understand and stand for our founding principles in the Senate, so we can win it back and we can get this country back on track,” said West. “That is why Deborah Flora has my highest endorsement.”
Flora reacted to the endorsement with high praise for the former congressman and fellow service member.
“Conservatives are uniting behind my campaign and our message of limited government,” said Flora. “Allen West sees what Coloradans are seeing -- the Biden administration caused an Afghanistan exit crisis abroad, an inflation crisis at home, and a humanitarian crisis at the border. We need to win the Senate to get our country back on track.”
