In addition to studying the human health effects of the toxins released by AltEn, this project funded by LB1048 also will help the State of Nebraska identify and deal with the contamination of waterways, and possibly groundwater, to protect the health of citizens, and our natural resources needed for agricultural production and other industries.
This water quality analysis of storm water and drinking water could also inform infrastructure investment and design for the area, to manage the risk of contamination.
