America is headed in the wrong direction. In response to the conflict in Ukraine, Biden is out of touch with the world and the Americans he’s supposed to serve.
The EU and Biden are putting sanctions in place, great right? Not so much. They just so happen to leave out gas and oil, one of Russia’s main exports. Sanctions rarely work in general, but it’s as if Biden wants them to fail.
Regardless, gas prices will be rising, and Biden is using it as an opportunity to push renewable energy. So while Americans will be struggling to pay for gas, our “leadership” is using it as an opportunity to push an agenda, missing the big picture completely.
It is the leaders in D.C. who have sold out our jobs and resources to the rest of the world, people like Biden and McGovern who care more about padding their pockets than Americans’ struggles. We need change in Congress who will put Americans first.
The question they should be asking is why should any of our energy be coming from Russia? In no way should we be dependent on another nation to power our lives. Especially one whose leader invades other nations, and threatens others with “consequences never seen before in history” if they interfere. We’ve been energy independent before, and we can do it again.
What this all comes down to is that America needs to focus on our independence. With the world tying their economies together over the last several decades, we’ve become dependent on each other, affecting how we respond to international conflicts. Our response to this crisis in Ukraine should be based on our principles and values, not our money and energy interests.
Energy independence is American independence, and it’s time we bring it back to our great nation.
