Jeffrey Sossa Paquette Call’s on Kate Campanale to drop out of Kate’s bid to be Lt. Governor of Massachusetts
Jeffrey Sossa Paquette issued the following statement
At my political peril or maybe not, I make this announcement, for I have a responsibility to stop intolerance of any kind. A year ago, I was called on to defend the adoption of my children because I was a gay married man, as members of the MassGop tried to derail and stop my campaign. They did not stop me, nor did they win, and I'm still here
Unfortunately, as much as I go after the Democrats, I'm once again forced to police my own side, calling out on another Republican’s intolerance.
Republican Candidate for Lt. Governor Kate Campanale took a vote in 2018 in favor of conversion therapy. Having had four years to better understand the LGBTQ community, Kate, alongside Candidate for Governor Chris Doughty in a joint interview, doubled down on her vote in favor of conversion therapy.
As a result, I'm calling on Kate Campanale to step out of the race for Lt. Governor of Massachusetts. The Republican Party, alongside the citizens of Massachusetts, cannot afford a return to conversion therapy, an outdated and anti-scientific practice found to be the cause of countless suicides. We can do better, and we must do better. Kate must go.
I've honored my commitment to my future constituents that I will always stop intolerance in all its forms regardless of political parties. I'm sure Kate is a wonderful person but unfortunately, the line must be drawn, and I must fight for what I believe is right in my heart, regardless of political affiliation.
