Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Katie Hobbs issued a statement in support of the Arizona Senate’s vote to temporarily suspend the Aggregate Expenditure Limit (AEL).

“I’m proud to have stood strong with Arizona schools, students, and educators to push the Legislature to act and fund our public schools. Moving forward, we must commit to investing in Arizona’s children and schools statewide,” said Hobbs.

Secretary Hobbs has been vocal on this issue since January, organizing a phone bank to raise awareness around the issue and participating in a walk-out with local educators in protest of the AEL. Hobbs applauds lawmakers for finally putting aside partisan games and working to save Arizona schools from the threat of budget cuts and closures.
