Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Katie Hobbs released the following statement on Governor Ducey’s signing of HB2492, a law that imposes new proof-of-citizenship requirements on currently registered voters:

“Despite Arizona administering the safest and most secure election in our history in 2020, Governor Ducey has caved to the election deniers and conspiracy theorists by signing this new law,” said Hobbs. “HB2492 will only make it harder for Arizonans, and most notably seniors, to vote while continuing to threaten the public’s trust in our electoral system.”
