Karen Bedonie for Governor: Squash Blossom Necklace

New Mexico

Correction on the Secretary of State's website regarding the Squash blossom necklace.  It is not worn by males.  It is a female piece with great meaning, empowering means and significance to the Navajo women with clans.   I wear mine in prayer and direct events I decide.  It signifies overcoming historical tragedy and the path to prosperity for the Diné.

When you see this necklace around, think of BEDONIE.  I will carry my Squash Blossom to the Roundhouse that no other can in my place.

Ironically, the official necklace of our state hangs around the necks of politicians that destroy our state or weakly fight for the people.

We'll need to right these wrongs.

When you see this necklace on other politician's necks, think of BEDONIE.  When you look at their ads, their marketing materials, think of me.  BEDONIE is Navajo.  It's a creation of the Diné people that is meant for the female and it blesses the Navajo people with feminism and thick beauty.

On other necks, it's just for "show". So, let them SHOW you and remind you that the first Navajo candidate for New Mexico Governor is FEMALE and that they actively campaign for BEDONIE.  Rejoice and let them market for me gladly. God bless their necks and my life.
