A former member of SEAL Team One, Brady Duke today announced his candidacy for Congress as a Republican in Central Florida’s 7th Congressional District consisting of Seminole County and parts of Orange County, including much of Orlando and the cities of Maitland and Winter Park.
Duke, a native of Central Florida, achieved his childhood dream of becoming a Navy SEAL upon completion of the rigorous BUD/S program in 2007. He served our country on multiple tours in Afghanistan and the Middle East, operating as a sniper and breacher.
“As a Navy SEAL, I’ve looked into the face of evil in combat, and I will never back down from a fight in Washington,” Duke said. “Now, I’m a husband and father of five, and I’ve seen too many professional politicians compromising our country’s future and security. I’m ready to face these challenges to cut taxes, secure our border, defend life, and ensure the safety of our families at home and abroad.”
A record-setting local swimmer in high school, Duke served with SEAL Team One for nearly a decade, becoming a decorated combat veteran receiving two Navy Commendation Medals, among other awards, during the Global War on Terror.
When he became a father, Duke transitioned into training SEALs stateside and eventually became a civilian instructor, training military special operators and SWAT teams in close quarters combat following his honorable separation from the Navy. After nearly a decade serving his country in the SEAL teams, Brady Duke also became involved in ministry with his wife, Julie. As a father of five, Duke returned home with his family to his native Central Florida. Now he’s ready to continue his service to our nation in Congress.
“Stephanie Murphy won’t stand up to AOC or President Biden who want to raise taxes and enact radical policies that hurt Central Florida families,” said Duke. “I fought to protect American families in combat, and I’ll do so again in Congress.”
