Today, the Kelly Schulz for Governor campaign released the following statement in response to the mask mandates in local school systems:

“Imposing mask mandates on the general public when nearly 80 percent of Marylanders are vaccinated does not follow the science and is a clear step backward in our effort to get back to normal,” said gubernatorial candidate Kelly Schulz. “These new mandates have little to do with creating better health outcomes and everything to do with appeasing far-left political activists. At this point, wearing a mask should be a choice for those that have ongoing health concerns, not a mandate for the general population.”

“Masks and lockdowns won’t defeat COVID – vaccines will. I encourage everyone who isn’t vaccinated to do so as soon as possible.”
