When you simplify the definition of property rights, I believe it’s as simple as being able to enjoy your land, having clean air to breath, and having safe water to drink/cook/bathe. You want to know that when you pluck the vegetables from your personal garden, that they are safe for your family to eat. It shouldn’t be about having to use your personal resources to fight against those who try to violate your rights to enjoy your land.
Time after time we see the residents of these small communities who just want to be heard and they want the state to not only go through the motions but to actually pull the trigger to help them in their time of need. The AltEn environmental crisis is a shining example of what happens to residents when we wait.
When will we get this right?
