Michael Brown, Republican candidate for Governor, today announced that former Berrien County Treasurer Bret Witkowski has joined his campaign as a Senior Tax & Policy Advisor.

Witkowski, who served twenty-one years as Berrien Treasurer, is a respected financial analyst who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the campaign.

“I’m very pleased to have Bret’s expertise on the team,” noted Brown. “Not only did he serve Berrien County with compassion and an exemplary attitude of working with others, he has also served as a Financial Analyst for the Michigan Department of Treasury.”

“Michael Brown is the real deal,” Witkowski said. “I’ve known him for many years, and can attest that he has the best interests of all Michigan citizens at heart. Michael’s common-sense approach is refreshing in a world of poll-tested politicians and out-of-touch millionaires. I’m happy to endorse him and help him in his campaign to become Governor.”

During his tenure in Berrien County, Witkowski strived to make sure that people would not lose their properties due to financial hardships. He developed the Hopeful Home Fund in conjunction with the United Way to help deserving homeowners with their back property taxes.

In the final year in his position, Witkowski worked to help people suffering from the financial burden caused by Governor Whitmer’s mandates that forced business and school closures.

“It’s time to right the ship in Michigan. Michael Brown is the candidate we need to take the helm as Governor.” – Bret Witkowski
