Republican candidate for Congress Mike Flood released a statement following the announcement that Rep. Jeff Fortenberry will resign from Congress on March 31.

"I want to thank Jeff Fortenberry for his many years of honorable service to our district, our state, and our nation. Mandi and I wish Jeff, Celeste, and the entire Fortenberry family nothing but the best, and we will be keeping them in our prayers.

"Working together, we will keep this seat in Republican hands. We will help retake the House and end Democrats’ disastrous one-party rule. We will continue the fight for our families, our economy, and our conservative values in Congress."
