Hazleton, PA - Former mayor and congressman Lou Barletta, Republican candidate for governor of Pennsylvania, today announced the endorsement of the Oil & Gas Workers Association (OGWA). The Oil & Gas Workers Association (OGWA) is a grassroots, independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit trade association working to secure, grow, and sustain American oil and gas jobs.

"Lou Barletta is the clear choice for governor of Pennsylvania," said Oil & Gas Workers Association President Matthew Coday. "Barletta has proven he can work for all Pennsylvanians and pledges to bring the Keystone State together with sensible policies that unleash Pennsylvania’s natural resources and benefit every citizen. Further, Barletta has promised to remove Pennsylvania from the disastrous Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), which is a multi-state pact that will destroy thousands of jobs in the Commonwealth while having no impact on the environment. Democrat Josh Shapiro will undoubtedly keep Pennsylvania ensnared in RGGI and crush our natural resource workers, since he has always done the bidding of the radical environmental lobby."

"I am grateful to have received the endorsement of the Oil & Gas Workers Association," said Barletta. "Pennsylvania's energy industry has been the unfair target of extreme liberal Green New Deal-style policies that have decimated our economy and cost thousands of hardworking, blue-collar Pennsylvanians their jobs. Josh Shapiro's tyrannical rule as Attorney General has purposefully targeted and bullied our energy industry under the false guise of environmental stewardship, and has ruined countless lives and blue-collar jobs in the process. Shapiro's silence on RGGI proves that he is beholden to the radical, far-left environmental lobby and could care less about protecting Pennsylvania's blue-collar workers. It's time we turn on the energy powerhouse that Pennsylvania can be and unleash our natural resources once and for all."
