HARRISBURG – Senate President Pro Tempore Jake Corman (R-Bellefonte) announced today that he has hired Jason Thompson to serve as his office’s Communications Director, effective April 19.

Thompson previously worked as a public relations specialist in the Senate Communications Office for nearly 19 years. In addition to developing and supporting communications strategies for more than a dozen current and former members of the Senate Republican Caucus, Thompson has contributed to messaging efforts on numerous major caucus initiatives, including the landmark pension reform law Corman authored in 2017.

“Jason has a tremendous amount of experience with nearly two decades of service in the Senate, and he has demonstrated an exceptional work ethic and a proven track record of working collaboratively with members and staff to achieve the communications objectives of our Caucus,” Corman said. “I am confident that these qualities will make Jason a great resource for my office, the media and the Senate Republican Caucus as a whole.”

Thompson earned a bachelor’s degree with a dual major in Journalism and Political Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2002.
