MONROE COUNTY, Ga. (WGXA) -- A Republican up-and-comer who says she's out to unseat establishment politicians campaigned in Middle Georgia on Wednesday.

"I'm running because I'm sick of being represented by establishment politicians that only care about money and power," says Baxley, Georgia native Dr. Kandiss Taylor.

Backed by My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell, former Trump advisor Roger Stone, and attorney Lin Wood, the foundation of Taylor's campaign is based on her support of more parental control in classrooms, stricter election security, and better mental health services.

Taylor claims that her concern about secure elections means she doesn't want to see a repeat of 2020.

"The whole state's upset, and we're worried about the election this time, making sure only fair, legal votes count one time."

With a Ph.D. in counseling, Taylor says she works in the education field. She is against teaching LGBTQIA+, Critical Race Theory, and sex education issues in the classroom.

"Parents across the state are furious. We want to be sure that our conservative state protects morality," says Taylor.

Despite her lack of political experience, Taylor thinks she can beat incumbent Brian Kemp and his major Republican opponent, David Perdue.

With her grassroots supporters, Taylor says "it's not going to be hard to do at all."

Hitting the campaign trail over the last year, Taylor says she has personally driven 85,000 miles and visited every one of the state's 159 counties to reach voters.

"We have momentum going for this campaign that's really overwhelming, it's been Jesus, and it's been the people of Georgia that want change."
