Nogales Councilmember Joe Diaz endorsed Marco Lopez for governor.

“I’m proud to endorse Marco for governor, because he is the kind of leader our state needs to build an Arizona in which every Arizonan has the opportunity to get ahead,” said Diaz. “During Marco’s time as an executive in both the public and private sectors he has continually been able to bring people together behind shared values and common goals and I’m confident he’ll be able to do that as governor.

“I’m excited to have the support of Councilmember Diaz,” Lopez said. “I’m running to lead Arizona because whether it’s been in the mayor’s office or the office of my small business, I’ve spent my whole life bringing people together to deliver results and that’s exactly what I’m going to do as governor.”

Diaz is the 14th elected or former elected official to endorse Marco Lopez in recent weeks as the race has shifted in the wake of a jury verdict that awarded $2.75 million to Talonya Adams in a discrimination and retaliation lawsuit that she brought against the State Senate under the leadership of then Senate Minority Leader Katie Hobbs.
