Geoff Diehl for Governor: Transportation and Climate Initiative

Massachusetts

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

Maura Healey reportedly told a gubernatorial forum last night that she would "revisit" the Transportation and Climate Initiative (TCI) if she is elected Governor.

Not that I'm at all surprised... Healey has made her progressive agenda focused on climate change more and more obvious recently, making it the focal point of her campaign.

But it is still very alarming that Maura Healey, as a candidate for Governor, is signaling her intention to give up our state's sovereignty and sock taxpayers with enormous tax increases in future years by rejoining TCI.

Together, we scored an enormous victory last year when Governor Baker abandoned his efforts to have Massachusetts join TCI. We can't afford to go back to the beginning again.

It's clear that the only way to defeat these policies is to have strong, conservative leadership in the Governor's Office.

I am the only candidate in this race who is capable of delivering this leadership. I am the only person who is ready to stand up to Maura Healey and progressive, far-left policies on Beacon Hill. You've seen me do it before with the gas tax. You've seen me do it before with the Democrats' plan to bring the Olympics to our state.

I'm ready to do it again, as much as necessary, to protect you and our state.
