Native born oregonian and lifelong democrat john sweeney announced his candidacy for the governor of the state of oregon. John sweeney has lived most of his life in the city of portland and retired as a portland park bureau supervisor after 33 years, as well as served a distinguished career as an officer in the army national guard. John sweeney is a graduate of the us army command & general staff college and portland community college and was elected and served as a school board member for the multnomah education service district for 8 years. The people of oregon deserve honest and diligent representation. John sweeny is running to restore integrity and confidence in the office and give the people of oregon a strong voice. Our state faces many difficult challenges, lagging infrastructure improvements, rising crime, and underperforming education. As governor, john sweeney is prepared to tackle any and all issues facing the state and humbly asks the people of oregon to allow him to serve them with bold leadership and common-sense strategies designed to advance the interests of all oregonians.
