Jeffrey Sossa-Paquette for Congress: Ready for Change in Massachusetts District 2

Massachusetts

When I first began to explore a run for Congress a couple of years ago, I made a pledge to the people of Massachusetts’s 2nd congressional district. It’s time to renew that pledge:

I’m not a politician. I’m a father, a small business owner, and an American who is extremely concerned about the futures of my children and yours. Our federal government has become so dishonest and so dysfunctional that we have all lost faith in our leaders. Our country is run by politicians who don’t give a damn about anyone’s future but their own.

After an illness that required four brain surgeries, my greatest regret was that I might not be able to say to my children that I had stood up and fought for you. That made me angry -- angry enough that I prayed, I pushed and worked my way back. It took a year to get my speech back, and to prove to myself that I am more than ready for the challenge of a campaign, and more important, ready to serve.

I traveled to Florida to meet with the nation’s leading conservatives, journalists and hundreds of political activists. That experience proved to me that I’m not just ready, but more than able to fight for the bright future of opportunity that we all deserve.

What I have to offer is simple:  Integrity and honesty. I will tell you the truth, even if it hurts. I will answer your questions, even if it’s not comfortable. That’s what we need from our government, and I pledge that you will get it from me. With humility and honesty, I will fight to restore our American promise.

Government by the people for the people.

I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you over the coming months.
