Congratulations to Rep. Louise Stutes, who will do a great job as Speaker (this isn’t a pass to ignore today’s Food Bank fundraiser post!) She’s a Republican, but not partisan. She cares about facts, hates underhanded political games and believes in non-partisanship. She cares about the state. I was lucky to work with her to put politics aside in our 2017-18 majority coalition, serve with her on our leadership team, and work to help make it work and find a middle road that was good for Alaska. One that protected Schools and the University and kids and seniors. Louise cares about Alaskans, whether rural or urban or Republicans or Democrats. We haven’t yet heard whether the 20-20 impasse in the House has been resolved, but, good luck Louise! It’s a hopeful first step towards a bi-partisan coalition.
