Nebraska

Let's talk about womens rights. I feel comfortable with this since I am a woman.

As a woman with 5 daughters and 7 grandkids with 3 of them being female, let me tell you what I think and believe. I will always tell you the truth and give full transparency.

1. Abortion is not a means of birth control and should never be considered so.

2. I have total control of my reproductive freedom right now as a woman. Abstinence, the pill, IUD, condoms, sponge, contraception inserted on the inside of the arm is available and more.  I can have my tubes tied. That is what I consider freedom of choice and reproductive rights.

3. Death is recognized with the absence of a heartbeat. I feel that Life is recognized with the presence of a heartbeat.

4. The nightmare of choosing to take the life of a baby to save the life of the mother would be devastating for those making the choice. The mom and dad of that baby get to make that decision as an extreme and dire circumstance.

5. In situations of rape and incest the morning after pill is available and is provided long before a heartbeat is detected.

6. Once a heartbeat is present, you better be prepared to have a baby.

I can speak with full knowledge of of unplanned pregnancies. I understand the fear, cruelty, and shaming by so called Christians and Republicans who advised me to abort.  Shame on them for not providing support and help.

Babies provide hope and healing. They give unconditional love and change your life path and future. Being afraid is not a reason to eliminate a pregnancy. A pregnancy due to infidelity is not an excuse.

Know that if the bill to make abortion illegal in Nebraska comes across my desk as your Governor, I WILL sign it.

There is a ripple effect with the thousands of babies aborted in Nebraska and across the Nation. We find ourselves in a workforce shortage and abortion is largely responsible.

We always have to consider the full ripple effects of decisions we make.
