WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement after the Supreme Court of Pakistan set free and overturned the case against Omar Sheikh, who was convicted in the 2002 kidnapping and murder of Wall Street Journal reporter, Daniel Pearl:

“This decision by the Pakistani government is a total miscarriage of justice. Its failure to hold those responsible for murdering Americans and continuing to bow to terrorists speaks volumes about the allegiances and priorities of the Pakistan government. The United States cannot condone the brutal murder of its own citizens and must withhold aid until Pakistan serves justice.”
