I am 100% anti-mask mandates. Individuals who choose to wear a mask do not deserve to be mocked, ridiculed, or intimidated. Wearing a mask is a personal decision that everyone should be free to make on their own. This discussion is so deeply divided. Fear and Anger are powerful emotions. These strong feelings make it very difficult for humans to see clearly. When an issue is politicized it is polarized. If we were to all just set aside this politcal division, I truly believe that most people would see the forest through the trees and make educated and well informed decisions regarding the use of PPE. Mandates only magnify the divide and stirs up those powerful emotions, perpetuating this seemingly endless loop. Our Government has a responsibility to protect the rights of its citizens and ensure their safety and security. Both are equally essential for citizens to thrive. As Governor of Nebraska, I will ensure that all Nebraska residents have access to unfiltered and unbiased data regarding this pandemic and what can be done to end it. Nebraskan's are good people and I believe an informed community is a strong community.
