Former Trump administration U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman today endorsed Jake Evans’ campaign in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District.
“As a member of the House, Jake will continue the long tradition of Georgia Republicans standing strongly with Israel – our friend, partner and ally,” Friedman said. “Jake understands the unique challenges of this small democracy as we face common enemies. He supports giving military aid, keeping our embassy in Jerusalem and encouraging business investment in Israel to counteract boycotts by others, and that’s the kind of leadership we need at a time when America is no longer projecting strength to the world. I encourage the voters in Georgia’s 6th District to rally to Jake’s campaign.”
As an adviser to the 2016 Trump campaign and later as ambassador to Israel, Friedman played a critical role in moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv – an action promised by many campaigns that was never delivered until the Trump administration. Prior to President Trump’s election, Friedman served Trump as a personal lawyer for many years.
“The way that Ambassador Friedman stood up to accomplish America First promises such as moving our embassy to Jerusalem and protecting our democratic ally in the Middle East embodies the bold conservatism that I’ll bring to the House,” Jake said. “I’m honored to have his support and look forward to furthering our shared goals when it comes to protecting Israel and returning our country to America First principles.”
