Jake Evans’ Response to Baseless and Desperate Lies by Opponents

Georgia

Out of desperation to stunt the overwhelming momentum of my campaign, my opponents have launched baseless attacks. Being a man of integrity and faith, I provide this response so the voters of Georgia’s Sixth District know the truth and where I stand.

First, I unapologetically back the blue and fiercely oppose any effort to defund the police. This issue is deeply personal to me as my uncle served as a deputy sheriff for more than 30 years and my cousin is a former firefighter and a current deputy sheriff. My support for law enforcement is front and center in my campaign and is affirmed by endorsements from former Cobb County Sheriff Neil Warren, Cobb County Solicitor General Barry Morgan, former US Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia Bob Barr and many others.

My opponents blatantly misrepresented a paper I drafted more than 10 years ago, in the Spring of 2012, for a law school class. The paper says that the media drives racial division in America, which is still true today. It goes on to state that the leading predictor for imprisonment is lack of education and that, by increasing educational opportunities, we can reduce the costs for imprisonment as the prison population shrinks. There is no suggestion or mention of defunding the police. In fact, the words “defund” are not in the article. This false attack is a baseless, shameless and desperate lie.

Second, I am the only true America First candidate in this race, and that’s why I’ve earned the support of the leading America First conservatives – from Sean Hannity to Newt Gingrich to Richard Grenell and many others – who form President Trump’s inner circle. I strongly and publicly supported Trump, and as an attorney, fought through the trial courts to the appellate courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, to ensure that only legal votes would be counted in Pennsylvania in the 2020 election. I’ve run a bold, unafraid America First campaign since day 1, and on that, I will never waver.

My opponents dug up a video from October 7, 2016, the same day as the release of the Access Hollywood tape, to attempt to question my allegiance to President Trump. Unlike others in this race, I supported and voted for President Trump in 2016. President Trump fulfilled his promises to Make America Great Again, and I believe that, to Save America, we must return to President Trump’s successful America First policies. I am more vocal on this fact than any candidate in the country.
