Alaska

U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) proudly announced the names of the 35 young Alaskans whom she is nominating to the U.S. Military Service Academies for the class of 2021.

“Every year we see a great number of qualified young Alaskans who would like to attend one of our  nation’s prestigious military academies and serve our country admirably. It is an honor that I have the opportunity to nominate a number of exemplary candidates who are among the best and brightest in the Last Frontier. They have demonstrated strong leadership capabilities and a dedication to service. I look forward to seeing all that these young Alaskans will achieve in the future, and I wish them well as they pursue their education at our distinguished academies.”

U.S. Military Service Academy nominees are selected based on their academic record, extracurricular activities, and demonstrated leadership potential. Senator Murkowski’s nominees will now compete against other candidates nationwide for a spot in the entering class. Though a congressional nomination to a service academy is an accomplishment within itself, it does not guarantee admission; service academies will make final decisions.
