Joshua Revak for Congress: Assistance with Veterans Benefit Services Offered for Free

Alaska

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

Exciting update! Last fall, the Governor signed my bill into law which ensures that veterans and their families who are looking for assistance with veterans benefit services are informed that those services are offered for free by Veteran Service Organizations before they pay for assistance. I spoke with the Department of Military and Veterans today and am happy to report that since the bill went into effect, they have seen a dramatic drop in reports of veterans getting taken advantage of by predatory providers.

Veterans earned these benefits through their service. As a veteran myself, I am deeply honored to be a part of helping our servicemembers affordably obtain the services they deserve.

I want to thank the Department, my colleagues, and each veteran who reached out to us in support of this effort. #akleg
