February  is Black History Month. Each week I’m highlighting Kansans who have  shaped our community and influenced our nation’s history. Today we  highlight Junetta Everett, past chair of the Wichita Regional Chamber of  Commerce.

Junetta  Everett has been a trailblazer in Kansas business – she began her  career working in dental hygiene as the first African American hygienist  in Kansas and worked her way up to become a vice president at Delta  Dental until her retirement this month. Last year, Junetta became the  first African-American and the 6th woman to serve as the Board Chair of  the Wichita Regional Chamber. She continues to inspire future  generations with her leadership in our community and the business  sector. #KansasHistory
