February is Black History Month. Each week I’m highlighting Kansans who have shaped our community and influenced our nation’s history. Today we highlight Kenya Cox, who currently serves as the Executive Director of the Kansas African American Affairs Commission. Kenya has inspired many across our state with her dedication to public service, having served state and federal officials. She has been a tireless advocate for Kansas and further continues these efforts as President of the Kansas NAACP State Conference. Recently she was one of just 15 federal commissioned members appointed to lead the National 400 Years of African-American History Commission. #KansasHistory
