I recently went to the Pearlridge Community Park to check out the reconstruction work at the basketball and volleyball courts. I am glad that the Honolulu City Council approved funding for this important project during the time I served on the Council. I know that many residents in the community, especially our young people, are looking forward to using these playcourts in the near future. Our City needs to do more to maintain our public parks as safe and healthful gathering places for our community.
