I was devastated to read this news this morning. My heart is breaking for her family. My prayers are with them today.
Sharidean inspired me. She was such an amazing example of women in leadership. She served her community with grace, dignity and strength. She stepped up, joined the public administration conversation, and made history for women in Cache county government.
She will be sorely missed.
Her legacy will live on.
I met Sharidean at my very first “official” Congressional Campaign event. Her words of advice and encouragement still echo in my head. After our meeting, she called her sister and told her about our having met, and encouraged her to call me. That was a fun conversation too, I know how much she inspired others because I learned about Sharidean’s political trailblazing and struggles from her very proud sister’s perspective.
Sharidean wrote my first “official” congressional donation check. I kept a screen shot of that check on my phone, and during the tough times of campaigning- I would look at her signature on that check and remember of the very brightest of good, good times.
As women in politics, I don’t even know if our political views alined, but I do know- she touches my life still.
Because I knew her, my life has been changed for good.
