HARRISBURG — Senate President Pro Tempore Jake Corman (R-Bellefonte) issued the following statement regarding the passing of former Senator Ed Helfrick:

“I had the honor of serving with Ed Helfrick during my first term in office, and he set a shining example for all legislators with his dedication and generosity to his community. He was successful in everything he did – especially as a businessman, a legislator, a community leader, a father and a grandfather.

“I admired him not only for the way he approached the issues, but also how he always put his family first. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and statesmanship we all should aspire to, and I will always value the lessons he taught me and the time we spent serving in the Senate together.

“My heartfelt prayers remain with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
