Lou Barletta for Governor: Statement on Joe Biden’s First Year in Office

Pennsylvania

Former mayor and congressman Lou Barletta, the leading Republican candidate for governor of Pennsylvania, issued the following statement regarding President Joe Biden’s first year as president:

“It has been a disheartening year for Pennsylvanians under the horrible policies of the Biden administration, and it’s terrifying to think that we still have three more long years ahead of us.

“Biden has taken away our energy independence, given birth to runaway inflation, caused 13 American service members to be killed in his botched Afghanistan withdrawal, effectively erased our southern border, and shipped illegal immigrants into our communities without consulting with us or alerting us.

“Biden clings to vaccine mandates that are unconstitutional while using his bureaucracy to promote mask mandates in schools that aren’t necessary, harm children, and violate the rights of parents to be involved in decision-making.

“Gov. Tom Wolf and Attorney General Josh Shapiro march in lockstep with Biden, and absolutely can be counted on to continue to do his bidding, no matter how destructive the policies are to the people of Pennsylvania. Now more than ever, it’s obvious that we need a governor who will stand up to Joe Biden and not just roll over when he decides he’s going to do things that are damaging to our Commonwealth.

“When I’m governor, I will fight against the Biden policies that hurt us, and not quietly take orders from the tyrannical federal government.”
