Former mayor and congressman Lou Barletta, leading Republican candidate for governor of Pennsylvania, displayed the strength of his grassroots campaign by raising over $1 million in 2021. Barletta’s fundraising total was achieved without resorting to self-funding or personal loans.
Barletta issued the following statement:
“We are running the largest grassroots campaign in Pennsylvania history, and our strength is clear in the financial support we’ve received. Some people show their enthusiasm by coming to events, some volunteer to help out, and some contribute with their donations. As Republicans, we must nominate the candidate who will be best equipped to marshal all the resources needed to defeat Josh Shapiro. This fundraising report shows that ours is an undeniably vibrant campaign that will be well positioned for victory in November.”
Barletta's receipts totaled $1,038,444.12 in 2021 and his campaign ended the year with $244,920.78 cash on hand and no debt.
