Hazleton, PA - Former mayor and congressman Lou Barletta, the leading Republican candidate for governor of Pennsylvania, announced the formal endorsement of State Representative Aaron Kaufer (R-Luzerne). With his endorsement, Rep. Kaufer becomes the sixth state legislator to formally endorse Barletta's campaign.

“I’ve been friends with Lou Barletta for years and I’m honored to endorse him for Governor,” said Rep. Aaron Kaufer (R-Luzerne). “When he was in Congress, Lou never hesitated to get out from behind the desk and be hands-on with the communities he represented. Together, we went on economic development tours, had countless meetings with community leaders, and fought to make Luzerne County a better place to call home: a place that both Lou and I are proud to call home. Unfortunately, so often, we see elected officials who only show up during election time to ask for our vote. There is no question that Lou not only knows Luzerne County, but the people who live here as well, and he will never forget where he came from. I'm confident that Lou Barletta, a Luzerne County resident, will not only be an excellent Governor but he will be our next Governor."

“I am grateful to have Rep. Aaron Kaufer's support," said Barletta. "Conservatives across Pennsylvania are uniting behind my campaign because they know how big of a disaster Josh Shapiro will be for our Commonwealth. When I'm governor, we will finally return to a sense of normalcy. We will rebuild our economy, unleash our energy industry, prevent biological males from competing in women's sports, and stand up for the rule of law. Simply put, we will give people their freedoms back and restore common sense to the Commonwealth."
