Downers Grove, IL — Today, U.S. Congressman Sean Casten (D-IL) released the following statement regarding the IBEW Local 1220 Strike and WTTW’s request for candidates to participate in its “2022 Primary Election Voter Guide”:

“Working people and organized labor are the backbone of a strong and fair economy. The workers represented by IBEW Local 1220 are vitally important to keeping our community informed and deserve fair collective bargaining. While I value the mission of public television, I stand with these workers in their fight for fairness. I will not participate in WTTW’s 2022 Primary Election Voter Guide or any interview with WTTW until the strike is resolved. I call on my opponents to do the same, and I urge WTTW management to bargain fairly and support these essential workers.”
