Congresswoman Miller Re-Introduces Reinforcing Impaired Driving Education (RIDE) Act

West Virginia

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) today re-introduced the Reinforcing Impaired Driving Education (RIDE) Act to promote inter-agency coordination and establish a pilot program to effectively study the prevention of driving under the influence of prescription and over-the-counter medication.

"West Virginia is ground zero for the opioid epidemic," said Congresswoman Miller. "I introduced the RIDE Act to study its devastating effects and help prevent West Virginians from driving under the influence. The heartbreaking effects of addiction have touched us all and this legislation is something we can all come together to support."

Originally introduced in June 2019, the RIDE Act is co-sponsored by Reps. Alex Mooney (R-WV), David McKinley (R-WV), Bill Huizenga (R-MI), and Morgan Griffith (R-VA).
