Huntington, IN - Gary Snyder, Democratic candidate for Indiana’s Third Congressional District, today released the following statement regarding Noble County using $3.1 million of its American Rescue Plan funds to fix big-ticket maintenance items at the jail. Jim Banks voted against the American Rescue Plan.

“Whether the American Rescue Plan funds are going to fix the jail in Noble County, add police officers and support to police departments across the third district or ensuring first responders have the personal protective equipment to keep them safe, Jim Banks’ vote against the American Rescue Plan was irresponsible, dangerous, and made those who protect us less safe.” Snyder said. “Our police and first responders deserve better. As your next Congressman, I will always put the safety of our police and first responders ahead of partisan politics and make sure they have the resources to keep themselves and the public safe,” added Snyder
