Huntington, IN - Gary Snyder, Democratic candidate for Congress in Indiana’s Third Congressional District, released the following statement on the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Holiday:

As we take this day to celebrate and remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. we have to also remember what he stood for. The values of equality, peace, justice, and freedom. These same fundamental values that we as Americans, and Hoosiers, hold dear to our hearts. I personally reflect on values such as these every day, and they were some of the chief reasons I decided to move forward with my candidacy. It is my goal, as a husband, a father, and a Hoosier to see these values continue to spread and blossom. I wish all of you a happy Dr. Martin Luther King Day, and ask you all to see these values that Dr. King espoused, and join me in trying to inculcate them further in our everyday lives.
