Dedication to Economic Development and Infrastructure Have Served His Constituents Well
OSWEGO, Ill. (May 17, 2022) – Today, Kendall County Board Chairman Scott Gryder announced the endorsement of his candidacy by the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150.
Recognizing Chairman Gryder’s leadership in pushing forward on vital infrastructure projects, James M. Sweeney, President of Local 150 stated:
“Scott Gryder has dedicated himself to economic development and infrastructure investments that have served his constituents well, and we are proud to endorse him in the Republican Primary Election for the 14th Congressional District.”
When announcing his endorsement, Chairman Gryder thanked the 2,000 members of Local 150 living within Illinois 14th District for their dedication to strong and reliable infrastructure that supports Illinois' economy and creates job opportunities in every industry:
I am honored to earn the endorsement of IUOE Local 150. I like to build things, and so do the hard-working men and women of the IUOE. Kendall would not be the community it is today without the many contributions of operating engineers who build roads, move earth and raw materials, and operate heavy equipment in a variety of industries.
To maintain a growing economy, we must protect good paying jobs. Instead of empty slogans like “Build Back Better” – I led the way toward massive transportation improvements such as the Eldamain Road bridge, Collins Road extension, Route 47 widening, and soon the Collins Road extension. These and other vital infrastructure projects provide real jobs with good wages and needed benefits to Kendall County, the fastest growing county in Illinois today.
As Chairman, I work hard every day to support all working families in our community, in Congress I’ll do the same.
Currently serving as Kendall County Board Chairman, Scott Gryder is challenging Lauren Underwood for the future of Illinois 14th District on behalf the hard-working people he meets every day who are struggling under the Biden-Underwood economy.
