Congressman Mooney Supports Title 42; Signs Discharge Petition

The Biden administration is doubling down on its far-left open-border policies. While President Trump’s successful Title 42 public health order has allowed for the quick expulsion of illegal immigrants to their native countries, the Biden administration is threatening to end the program as another surge of migrants make their way to the U.S.-Mexico border. As a member of the House Freedom Caucus, Congressman Mooney is proud to join with his caucus colleagues to support a discharge petition to bring legislation directly to the House of Representatives to keep Title 42 protections in place.

Recent reports have indicated that the lifting of Title 42 could bring a wave of up to 170,000 migrants attempting to enter the US this spring, with hundreds already marching north through Mexico and many camped out at ports of entry along the border.

“The border crisis continues to accelerate to record levels. I am incredibly concerned about the Biden administration’s lax border policies and the sheer volume of illegal immigrants that are entering our country each day,” said Congressman Alex Mooney. “The end of this program would overwhelm U.S. border authorities and their processing capacity. I urge the Biden administration to keep Title 42 in place for the safety and security of our nation.”
