Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Alex X. Mooney (WV-02) issued the following statement on West Virginia EPA Supreme Court Argument:

“Today, the State of West Virginia rightfully argued in front of the Supreme Court that Congress, not the Biden Administration, has the power to regulate emissions from power plants. The Obama Administration attempted to use executive orders to shut down the coal industry. It is quite simple; the people’s elected officials should make policy decisions in this country. Lifelong bureaucrats with an extreme left-wing agenda should not be dictating unilateral policy from cubicles in office buildings. Lawmakers with a direct connection to the people they represent should be making decisions on issues like the future of energy policy in the United States.”
