The Vargas campaign announced today that he has raised more than $1 million since announcing his campaign last July. This includes more than $325,000 for the first quarter in 2022, a clear sign of Vargas’ strength heading into the May 10 primary election.
Vargas’s strong fundraising has allowed him to communicate with voters all over the district. Last week, his first campaign ad hit local airwaves. And earlier this week, his campaign announced the start of a Spanish language digital and radio ad campaign. Vargas is currently the only candidate in the race to represent Nebraska’s Second Congressional District – both Democrat and Republican – with ad buys.
“I am thrilled to head into the primary with a strong lead and humbled to have support from Nebraskans from all walks of life,” Vargas said. “It’s clearer than ever that Nebraskans are ready for strong, principled leadership that focuses on people first to represent them in Washington. That’s how I’ve led as a senator and that’s exactly how I’ll be as a Congressman.”
Previously, the campaign has reported historic fundraising totals – $100,000 in the first 48 hours of the campaign, more than $400,000 in the third fundraising quarter, and $300,000 in the fourth and final quarter of 2021.
