This week, the Congressman appeared on WTTW’s Chicago Tonight program. When asked about President Biden’s efforts to mail half a billion at-home COVID tests to citizens next month Congressman Krishnamoorthi said that “It’s a good measure.. I quite frankly would have liked to see it earlier… We have yet to undertake a significant global vaccination campaign. Three of my relatives died in India due to Delta, and at that time I had initiated legislation to appropriate a lot of money to help vaccinate the rest of the world – a modest amount compared to the economic chaos it wreaked on the United States and other places – we didn’t do that… We’re just inviting the next Greek lettered variant to do the same, we have got to learn our lesson and help to vaccinate those underserved that can’t get vaccinations on their own.”
