This week, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi introduced a law that would establish comprehensive safety rules for booster seats. “We as parents always assume that no company would make a product that was unsafe for our children and that the government would regulate this space carefully, and unfortunately we’re wrong,” said Krishnamoorthi, who credited ProPublica with bringing the safety problems to his attention. “That’s why we introduced the legislation we did.”
