Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi spoke with NPR about the situation in Afghanistan and the mistakes he felt were made. “I think that there was a failure, we’re trying to pinpoint what exactly that failure was. Whether it was simply a failure to understand the nature of the rapid disintegration of the Afghan military forces, or whether it was a failure to ring the bell so to speak and make sure that appropriate actions were taken to make sure we were prepared for what happened. In either case I think there was a failure to evacuate our Afghan partners and others.”
