Sunday, March 3, 2022: Col. Dallas Wingate and his wife Becky, attended a fundraiser at Big Oyster Brewery for long-time friend and current District 20 Representative, Steve Smyk. Wingate and Smyk have a long military history together, where then Lieutenant Wingate served as Smyk’s Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer. The two have maintained friendship throughout the years, so attending a fundraiser to support Smyk was a must and an honor for Wingate. The event was an undeniable success with many in attendance and a convivial time was had by all. At the end of his speech to announce his candidacy for District 6’s State Senator, Smyk gave a nod and introduced Wingate, who is running for his current position, as State Representative for District 20. Transitioning from military service to public service seems instinctive for those who love our country and have a desire to help.
