Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger released the following statement following news from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on extending the tax filing deadline to May 17, 2021.
“This week’s news about the tax filing deadline extension is great news for many East Tennesseans and Americans,” said Congresswoman Harshbarger. “Last week, I sent a letter to the IRS Commissioner requesting the deadline be extended until June 15th after hearing from many of my fellow East Tennesseans who are still facing the challenges that led to the extended filing deadline last year. This one-month extension is a step in the right direction.”
