Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger released the following statement following President Joe Biden’s first address to a joint session of Congress.
“President Biden took 100 days to address Congress, and what we got was just the same old liberal tune of more government spending and higher taxes,” said Congresswoman Harshbarger. “Instead of governing in a unifying and bipartisan fashion as he promised during the campaign, Biden has pulled a bait and switch and has governed so radically that he has exceeded Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s expectations. Tonight’s speech was more of the same. I was disappointed, but not surprised, that we heard more about items on the Democrats’ liberal wish list than about common-sense solutions to solving America’s problems. We need serious solutions that will create jobs, not give union bosses handouts. And we need immediate action to end the national security, humanitarian and public health crisis on our southern border.”
